2011 JTAT Summer Workshop and Meeting

Purpose of the JTAT workshop is twofold. The first one is to provide the opportunity for teachers of Japanese in Texas to explore and expand their knowledge and skills necessary for teaching and learning of Japanese Language and culture. The second one is to promote their professionalism in language instructions and beyond. JTAT believes in Education in Japanese Language and Culture. Through Japanese Education, we make our effort and commitment in teaching learners of Japanese in Texas and make contributions to promote the cultural understanding and awareness in people of Japan and the U.S.A.

Place : Rayzor Hall, Language Resource Center, Rice University(direction, campus map ) Houston, Texas

Topic : "Language Learning with Technology; using easy, quick, and fun computer applications:
                   役立つTechnology を利用した「分かる授業」のために


      (オンラインのpixlr.com )での写真や絵の修整、取り入れ法

2)Powerpoint を利用して作るアニメーション機能を入れた動画の作成と教材への応用、


4)Google Doc, Google Earth, etc を使用して作成できる教材の紹介:Google account所有必要

5)汎用のソフトを既に使用している教師のshow and tell

6) Q & A (PC、Word, ソフトウェア、に関しての一般的な質問)

Certificate : Participants of the workshop will receive Certificate of Participation for 6 hours of Language Learning with Technology  for Teacher Professional Development in Japanese upon request.

Please note that if you are not a current member of JTAT, there would be a participation fee of $25.00 (non-members only). A box-lunch ($15.00 pre-order, for all participants including JTAT members) will be provided upon request. Please make cash payment at the day of the Workshop or  become a member prior to the workshop and take advantage of attending the workshop.with minimum charge described above. Schedule : Registration and Workshop will be held at Langage Resource Center, Rayzor Hall. JTAT summer meeting and a panel discussion will be held in HUMA119.

10:30 AM -12:15 PM   Session

Lunch & meeting

12:30 - 2:00 PM   Special Box-lunch catered by "Kubo's" ( pre-order, payment at registration).
